The Primer of International Storytelling in the Philippines (ISiP)

Storyhouse Philippines is a group of Storytellers and we are a dynamic, innovative and professional company that has lots of something in store. Wherein our stories are told in English not read aloud. Whose aim is to promote quality storytelling performances, seminars, workshops and events that will instill love for learning and of the arts that features undeniably exciting ways to motivate the minds to imagine and think.

The Vision of Storyhouse is to promote Storytelling as an art form by creating awareness of, among local and international audiences, the depth and the beauty of this artistic endeavor across the Philippines and to the world.

The Mission of Storyhouse is to stage and produce an International Storytelling in the Philippines, to be called ISiP, which is a Filipino word “isip” means mind, that we aim to showcase Local and International Storytellers sharing some fresh insights about the importance of the Art of Storytelling, what benefit can we have alongside with it. Through talks, seminars, workshops and performances that will remarkably brings development and progress as we tackle this medium in enhancing our communication skills particularly imparting it to the public school system. This will definitely exercise our brain to imagine as our stories being told.  

It is an appreciating initiative taken by Storyhouse to promote the art of storytelling in the Philippines. Storyhouse believe that storytelling will definitely create remarkable improvements in students and to those who are into public speaking as a whole. The primary focus is to train public elementary school students for free.

Realizing this mission is defined by the core values of Storyhouse which are Connectivity, Heritage, Culture, Community, Advocacy, Freedom of Expression, Creativity, Education, Collaboration and Sustainability.

The Goals of ISiP are;
(1) To support the recognition of the Philippines as an arts destination for both local and international artists and companies;
(2) To provide a platform dedicated to showcasing storytelling performances by local and international artists;
(3) To encourage and support the engaging of international artists with Filipino culture, enabling a ‘cross-interaction’ of ideas, concepts & cultures with local practitioners;
(4) To work with stakeholders and assist them in accessing and building audiences. Equally we would like to educate them to open their mind and engage with the promotion of the art of storytelling.
(5) To work with different non-government organizations, corporate foundations, international storytelling groups in establishing the Philippines as one of the country’s holding an International Conference regularly; and
 (6) To welcomes anyone with an interest in promoting the art of storytelling, whether teller, listener, beginner, professional or simply a supporter of the arts.
